Acidulants
Whether you are making soft drinks or juices, hard boilings or preserves, you can depend on food-grade ADM citric acid and lactic acid (as well as citrates and lactates) to add flavour, help adjust food pH and inhibit microbial growth.
Antioxidants
Decanox™ mixed tocopherols are very effective fat-soluble antioxidants for delaying or preventing the onset of rancidity in oils and fats.

Cocoa Products
ADM is the world’s premier cocoa processor, with the respected De Zaan® brand of cocoa powders, liquors and butters. ADM sources high-quality beans from all over the world to deliver consistent flavour and functional properties. We can provide cocoa powder, butter and liquor in a wide variety of colours, flavours or melt profiles.

Edible Beans
ADM is the world’s premier originator of the beans used in canned soups, chillies and baked beans canned for retail - including navy, pinto, black, kidney, refried and lima beans. To reinforce ADM’s field-to-cannery quality advantage, our in-house retorting facility allows us to can a bean soup or similar product, cook it, then remove and examine it. This information helps us optimize our beans for each customer to prevent unsightly breakage in the can.
Emulsifiers, Stabilizers & Thickeners
ADM emulsifiers, gums and thickeners - including soya lecithin and xanthan gum - are food industry staples to maintain texture, moisture levels, freshness and keep ingredients from separating. Some lecithin grades are available from conventional soya beans, meeting the requirements of EU 1829/2003 and 1830/2003 for classification as non-GM.
Nutrition Ingredients
Every day, ADM is working to identify scientifically proven ingredients derived from natural sources that promote health and well-being. From our vegetable oil processing come natural-source vitamin E for beverages; lecithin, a good source of the phospholipid choline; and phytosterols, proven to reduce cholesterol. And now ADM sterols and sterol esters have Novel Foods approval within the EU for a specified range of food applications.
From soya we derive not only the complete range of soya proteins described below but also Novasoy® isoflavone concentrates for dietary food supplements and functional foods.
Soya Proteins
Whether it is to enhance the nutritional quality of your product or to add functionality, ADM’s soya flours and textured soya flours, powdered and textured soya concentrates, and isolated soya proteins offer you the solution. These products are available from conventional soya beans, meeting the requirements of EU 1829/2003 and 1830/2003 for classification as non-GM.
In the UK, the Joint Health Claims Initiative (JHCI) allows an on-pack claim, which states that “The inclusion of at least 25g soya protein per day as part of a diet low in saturated fat can help to reduce blood cholesterol”. This is similar to the US FDA’s approved health-benefit claim.

Sweeteners
From its US corn processing operations ADM produces sorbitol in both crystalline and 70% solution forms, as well as crystalline fructose.
Vegetable Oils, Fats & Shortenings
As the world’s major processor of vegetable oils, including soya, corn, rapeseed, sunflower, palm, palm kernel and coconut, ADM offers oils and fats with the physical properties to meet the demands of every food application. Included are ranges of zero- and low-trans fatty acid oils and shortenings.
Wheat Flour, Baking Aids and Pre-mixes
From its UK flour mills, ADM provides a range of white, brown, wholemeal and speciality flours available either in bulk or bagged. In addition, there are the MIX-n-BAKE™ pre-mixes and mixes, bakery ingredients, bran, germ and bakers sundries.
