industry, it is a raw material for the manufacture of cellulose ethers, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate and cellulose viscose.
Emulsifiers, Stabilizers and Thickeners
ADM’s lecithins are proven emulsifiers in waxes and polishes, as well as in alkyd- and water-based paints and coatings. Our fermentation-derived OptiXan™ xanthan gum provides the desired viscosity and stability for your product formulations.
Oil Bases
ADM linseed, soybean and sunflower oils are vital components of paints and coatings, while our linseed and soya bean oils are used in printers’ inks.
Polyols
We offer maize-derived sorbitol, and high-purity glycerol from our biodiesel production.
Solvents
Starting with maize, ADM produces ethyl lactate, an effective and biodegradable solvent for essential oils, for use in cleaning printed circuit boards, and in household cleaners and paint strippers.
Vitamin E and Mixed Tocopherols
ADM is the world’s leading supplier of natural-source vitamin E as well as mixed tocopherols. Valued for its antioxidant effect as well as other health- and beauty-enhancing properties, our natural-source vitamin E is used twice as efficiently by the human body as the synthetic varieties.
