Studies have found that in beef cattle, dry corn gluten feed has 87.4% of the energy value of corn. Corn gluten feed is low in fat and starch, but high in digestible fiber. The higher neutral detergent fiber and lower acid detergent fiber level indicates a high percentage of hemicellulose, which is highly digestible
Golden Gluten
Golden GlutenŽ brand wet corn gluten feed provides an alternative to traditional feed that may mean considerable cost savings to most ruminant feeding operations. This protein- and energy-rich product can make up from 20 to 50% of the dry matter in the total ration and can be fed with silage, alfalfa hay or haylage. Unique product characteristics stimulate digestion in the rumen for better protein utilization and improved feed efficiency. This highly digestible fiber appears to reduce sub-acute acidosis, which leads to higher feed intake.
Corn Gluten Meal
This high-energy ingredient is approximately 60% protein. Corn gluten meal can be an excellent source of protein and the essential amino acids methionine and cystine. The amino acid digestibility is high, so corn gluten meal is an excellent alternative protein source.
Corn Germ Meal
Corn germ meal is an excellent protein and fiber source. It is a very palatable ingredient that contains 21 to 24% protein. It also contains a good amino acid balance.
Corn Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS)
This very palatable product is an excellent source of minerals, such as potassium, phosphorus, and B vitamins. DDGS can be a valuable source of fiber with excellent oil content.
