Emulsifiers and Surfactants
ADM’s lecithins are proven emulsifiers and superior surfactants in proprietary paint formulations, yet cost less than synthetic emulsifiers. Yelkin TS® emulsifier is used in oil-based applications.

Oils and Beyond
Archer 1 provides the industry with a natural, fast-drying conjugated oil for inks, stains and paints. Archer 1 mimics the characteristics of tung oil, but at a lower cost. ADM also provides many other natural-based products for your paint and coating formulations, such as linseed oil, soybean and sunflower oils, and OptiXan™ xanthan gum.

In the paper coatings industry, ADM supplies linseed and soybean oils to the printing industry for inks of various kinds, from high-gloss to newspaper. Here too, these ADM waxes and oils are biodegradable products derived

from renewable sources, yet compare favorably in performance to their petroleum-based competitors.
Coatings Removal
ADM products also figure prominently when it’s time for a coating to be removed. Starch-based EnviroStrip® and corn hybrid polymer EnviroStrip®XL products are dry particulates engineered specifically to remove tough coatings from sensitive substrates like graphite, carbon fiber, fiberglass, and Kevlar. When propelled against a surface, sharp-edged EnviroStrip products abrade away the coating, yet have enough inherent cushioning to leave the substrate undamaged. Better yet, EnviroStrip products are natural, biodegradable and recyclable, lessening the need to handle or dispose of toxic chemical solvents. It’s a combination that has made the EnviroStrip brand a growing favorite in the aerospace industry for civilian, military, and even spacecraft applications.
