Biodiesel

renewable fuel: biodiesel. This renewable, emissions-reducing fuel is already becoming the “green fuel” of choice in Europe and Asia. ADM derives the core ingredient of biodiesel, methyl ester, from the dependable supply of vegetable oils provided by our food operations. ADM also produces an additive that helps prevent oxidation-based deterioration of biodiesel fuels: vitamin E, the same substance celebrated for its antioxidant properties in the human body.

ADM is flexible in meeting your supply needs, focused on solving your problems, and dedicated to your absolute satisfaction. One example of this commitment to service is e-ADM, our online ordering and logistics management tool. Using e-ADM’s tank monitoring system, our logistics management specialists will electronically monitor and even automatically replenish your ethanol, eliminating supply depletion worries. In addition, you can also obtain detailed product information and current pricing, pay invoices online, and track the progress of tank car shipments.
ADM provides all these services, even as we monitor current environmental and legislative issues that affect your business. We work closely with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) in developing the specifications for fuels, and are continuously looking at innovative ways to enhance ethanol production and integrate processes on a larger scale. In one initiative, industry is partnering with the new National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Pilot Plant at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and researching ways to produce ethanol more efficiently.
