Bioplastics
Mirel™ is a line of durable, versatile thermoplastics that are biodegradable and biobased. They help meet the world’s growing demand for environmentally responsible products. Renewable Mirel plastics are made from the sugar in corn. They biodegrade in a variety of environments and reduce greenhouse gas emissions relative to petroleum-based plastics.

Plasticizers and Release Agents
ADM’s Panalite™ 90-30 K distilled monoglyceride is used successfully as a plasticizer in a variety of applications: in release agents for equipment and plastic food containers,

tamper-evident seals and heat shrink labels, anti-static agents, microwave attractants, aging modifiers in extruded foam, and anti-fog agents used in shrink wrap.
Solvents
ADM manufactures numerous products for solvent use, all from renewable resources. Methyl esters of various fatty acid compositions completely dissolve polystyrene and can remove plastic coatings in various applications. Ethyl lactate dissolves many plastics and can soften the plastic for removal from a surface. Use of these products improves operator safety and lessens exposure to toxic substances.
